XBee RR 802.15.4 RF Modules are embedded solutions that provide wireless end-point connectivity to devices. Utilizing the IEEE 802.15.4 networking protocol, these modules enable fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer networking. Designed for high-throughput applications, they offer low latency and predictable communication timing. Ideal for low-cost, low-power wireless sensor networks, these devices operate within the ISM 2.4 GHz frequency band. They also allow local configuration with BLE using the Digi XBee Mobile app. While functionally equivalent to the XBee3, the RR module does not support MicroPython or the full BLE programmable services offered by the XBee3.
The XBee line is renowned for its near plug-and-play wireless and mesh functionality, making it a top choice for microcontroller-based projects. The RR series further enhances this reputation.
This PRO version of the RR module comes with an SMA Antenna connector (antenna sold separately). The PRO line offers additional customization options for the radios but requires a bit more configuration compared to standard XBee modules. For comprehensive details, refer to the datasheet in the documents section.
