The XBee 3 Pro Module - U.FL Antenna is the third iteration of the popular XBee Series, combining the best features of its predecessors. This module supports 802.15.4, ZigBee, and BLE protocols, offering the flexibility of communication over UART or SPI. It boasts an impressive indoor range of up to 91.44 meters and a line-of-sight outdoor range of 3.22 kilometers, making it ideal for setting up a mesh network for communication with various devices in different locations.
Equipped with a U.FL connector, the XBee 3 Pro Module allows for the addition of an antenna. It also incorporates a built-in microcontroller, enabling configuration and programming of the modules using MicroPython and Digi's XCTU software. With a HCS08 CPU operating at up to 50.33MHz, 15 digital I/O pins, and 4 10-bit ADC pins, these modules can function as a standalone microcontroller.
Note: Although the XBee 3 Pro Module is backwards compatible with the XBee 1s and 2s in many respects, it is not entirely compatible. Consult the documentation for differences if you intend to incorporate these into an existing project.
