SparkFun ESP32 Thing

The SparkFun ESP32 Thing is a robust development platform for Espressif’s ESP32, the advanced version of the highly popular ESP8266. The ESP32, a WiFi-compatible microcontroller, boasts nearly 30 I/O pins, making it an ideal foundation for IoT and connected projects for years to come.

The SparkFun ESP32 Thing is affectionately known as the “Thing” because it serves as the perfect base for any Internet of Things project. From lighting up an LED to posting data on your chosen platform, the Thing can handle it all. You can program the Thing just like any microcontroller, even through the Arduino IDE by installing the ESP32 Arduino Core.

The SparkFun ESP32 Thing comes equipped with everything necessary to program, run, and develop on the wonderchip. Besides the WiFi SoC, the Thing includes an FTDI FT231x, which converts USB to serial, and allows your computer to program and communicate with the microcontroller. It also features a LiPo charger, enabling your ESP32 project to be battery-powered and truly wireless. The board also includes several LEDs and buttons to aid in your development.
