The SparkFun Qwiic Alphanumeric Display Kit is an advanced version of a seven-segment display, allowing you to display more than just numbers. This fourteen-segment display enables you to display a wide variety of numbers, characters, and symbols. The Qwiic system makes setup a breeze - simply plug it in and you're good to go. No soldering, no confusion over SDA or SCL, and no need for voltage regulation or translation!
This kit is equipped with six vibrant displays in red, white, green, blue, pink, and purple. It also includes sufficient Qwiic cables to get you started as quickly as possible. The display kit doesn't come with a microcontroller board, allowing you to choose the one that best fits your project needs.
The SparkFun Alphanumeric Display Arduino library simplifies the process of printing strings to the display. It allows you to send I2
C commands to the VK16K33 LED driver chip to light up segments (including the decimal point or colon) and even scroll your string across the display.
The VK16K33 also supports I2
C address configuration. By closing a combination of the address jumpers on the back, you can communicate with up to four displays on the same bus. The slim board design features detachable standoff holes, vertical Qwiic connectors, and internal mounting holes.
The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2
C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can’t hook it up wrong.
This kit includes one Qwiic Alphanumeric Display in each color: Green, Pink, Purple, Blue, White, Red, and Qwiic Cables of 50mm and 100mm.
