SparkFun Spectral Sensor Breakout - AS7263 NIR (Qwiic)

The SparkFun AS7263 Near Infrared (NIR) Spectral Sensor Breakout is a compact and efficient tool that allows you to bring spectroscopy into your everyday world. This device is designed to measure and characterize how different materials absorb and reflect various wavelengths of light, in a way that is both user-friendly and highly accurate. The AS7263 Breakout stands out with its dual communication ability, utilizing both an I²C interface and a serial interface with AT commands. Connecting the device is simple with the Qwiic connectors, allowing you to start taking spectroscopy measurements in no time.

The AS7263 spectrometer is capable of detecting wavelengths in the visible range at 610, 680, 730, 760, 810, and 860nm of light, each with 20nm of full-width half-max detection. It offers multiple ways to illuminate objects for accurate spectroscopy readings, including an onboard LED specifically chosen for this purpose, and two pins for soldering your own LED.

It's important to note that the I²C address of the AS7263 is 0x49 and is hardware defined. If you wish to communicate with multiple AS7263 sensors on a single bus, a multiplexer/Mux will be required.

The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a comprehensive ecosystem of I²C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that simplifies and accelerates the prototyping process. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, reducing the amount of required PCB space and preventing incorrect connections with polarized connections.

The SparkFun AS7263 NIR Spectral Sensor Breakout comes with a range of features including 6 near-IR channels, NIR filter set realized by silicon interference filters, a 16-bit ADC with digital access, programmable LED drivers, 2.7V to 3.6V with I²C interface, and 2x Qwiic connectors.
