The LIS3DH is a low-cost, low-power triple-axis accelerometer loaded with versatile features. It offers three-axis sensing and 10-bit precision with selectable scaling options of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g. The chip supports both I2C and SPI interfaces, with multiple data rate options ranging from 1 Hz to 5 kHz.
Designed for efficiency, the LIS3DH draws as little as 2uA current, not including additional circuitry. It features tap, double-tap, orientation, and freefall detection, as well as three additional ADC inputs for enhanced functionality.
The custom PCB comes in the STEMMA QT form factor, ensuring seamless integration with other sensors. The QT connectors on either side are compatible with SparkFun Qwiic I2C connectors, allowing solderless connections to development boards. The breakout board also includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting for compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V systems like Raspberry Pi and Arduino Uno.
The package includes standard 0.1" headers for easy use with breadboards or perfboards, plus four mounting holes for convenient attachment. With address selection pin, you can connect two accelerometers on the same I2C bus. The PCB design ensures easy interfacing, making it a staple in numerous commercial product teardowns.
