Add a tiny yet convenient power switch to your Pi with Pimoroni's On-Off SHIM. These compact boards are designed to be small, affordable, and handy, offering a mere 0.8mm thickness. They can be soldered directly onto the GPIO pins of your Pi, allowing compatibility with HATs and pHATs.
Simply connect your micro-USB power supply to the micro-B connector on the On-Off SHIM, and press the button once to power and boot up your Pi. After installing the relevant software, a second button press initiates a clean shutdown, fully cutting power to the device.
Features include a super-small SHIM-format board, corner-mounted push button, micro-B connector, red status LED, optional breakout pins, and a 2x6 female header. It supports up to a 2.5A power supply and requires a software daemon for clean shutdowns. Soldering is necessary for installation.
