The Explorer pHAT is a versatile prototyping companion for your Raspberry Pi, compactly designed for the Raspberry Pi Zero but compatible with all 40-pin GPIO Raspberry Pi variants. It enhances project capabilities with its robust suite of input and output options.
Features include four analog inputs, perfect for smoothly integrating analog signals, and two H-bridge motor drivers allowing bidirectional control of two 5V motors at up to 200mA per channel. These components are ideal for designing a nimble vehicle when paired with micro-metal gear-motors, with soft-PWM enabling precise speed control.
The Explorer pHAT supports four buffered 5V tolerant inputs for seamless interaction with 5V systems such as Arduino Uno or Leonardo, while four powered 5V outputs (up to 500mA per channel) afford ample power for stepper motors, solenoids, and relays. Use the onboard darlington array to drive significant loads, keeping in mind the total board current limit of 1A.
The kit includes an assembled Explorer HAT PCB, a 2x20 0.1" female GPIO header, and a 1x20 0.1" female header. Light soldering attaches the header, or opt for direct soldering onto the Pi Zero. A comprehensive Python library with documentation and examples is available to fully utilize the Explorer pHAT's features. Raspberry Pi not included.
