Do you have too many sensors with the same I2C address? Put them on the SparkFun Qwiic Mux Breakout to get them all talking on the same bus! The Qwiic Mux Breakout with TCA9548A enables communication with multiple I2C devices that have the same address, making it simple to interface with.
The Qwiic Mux offers eight configurable addresses of its own, allowing for up to 64 I2C buses on a single connection. All communication is managed via I2C, utilizing the convenient Qwiic system. You can change the last three bits of the address byte to assign eight jumper-selectable addresses if multiple Qwiic Mux Breakouts are used on the same I2C port. Adjusting the address is straightforward by adding solder to any of the three ADR jumpers.
Operating between 1.65V and 5.5V, each SparkFun Qwiic Mux Breakout is compatible with all Qwiic boards produced by SparkFun. The multiplexer utilized is the TCA9548A, for which Arduino and CircuitPython drivers are available. Additionally, because STEMMA QT is Qwiic compatible, it functions seamlessly with any STEMMA QT boards and components available at the Adafruit shop.
The package comes with only the assembled PCB; no cables or sensors are included, although a wide selection is available separately.
