Install bootloader on the ATTiny85

Placed on
Open the Arduino IDE, the program is in your start menu under the name “ Arduino ”. When the program is open, you will see an empty setup and run code. Click on “File” -> “Preferences” in the top left of the window. At the bottom of the “Preferences” window you will see the text: “More Board Managers URLs:” and a blank text field next to it. Click on the empty text field and enter the following link: http://digistump.com/package_digistump_index.json and click “OK” to close the window.

Then go to the menu “Tools” -> “Board” -> “Board Management…”. In this window, there may be a loading bar at the bottom. Wait for this to finish, as this means the program is fetching updates. When this is done, enter “Digistump” in the empty text bar at the top of the window and click enter. In this list the following package should be visible “Digistump AVR Boards by Digistump version xxx” (the xxx is the version number that is currently online, in my case it was 1.6.7). When you hold your mouse over this package, you will see a button appear with the test “Install”, click on it.
