A strain gauge is a precise electronic sensor made of an insulating flexible backing with a metallic foil pattern, designed to measure force or strain.

This durable sensor is securely attached to a strong aluminum base, preventing damage to the delicate foil and limiting excessive movement. Simply mount one side to a fixed enclosure and apply weight or force to the opposite side as directed by the arrows, which can signify either gravitational force or tension.
