The AS7262 spectrometer is designed to detect wavelengths in the visible spectrum at 450, 500, 550, 570, 600 and 650nm of light, each with 40nm of full-width half-max detection. To ensure accurate spectroscopy readings, the board offers multiple ways to illuminate the objects you intend to measure. It comes with an onboard LED specifically chosen for this task, and also includes two pins where you can solder your own LED.
Please note that the I2C address of the AS7262 is 0x49 and is hardware defined. If you need to communicate with multiple AS7262 sensors on a single bus, a multiplexer/Mux will be required. If you plan to use more than one AS7262 sensor, consider using a Qwiic Mux Breakout.
The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a comprehensive ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables designed to make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, which not only reduces the amount of required PCB space, but also ensures polarized connections, so you can't hook it up wrong.
