
The Red Vision Touch Display features a 5.08 cm, 320x240 pixel capacitive touch LCD, mounted on a breakout board that connects directly to the RP2350 RedBoard IoT. It includes a connector for the SparkFun Red Vision Camera Board or other 2x9-pin camera boards, making it versatile for various projects. The display board also integrates an I/O expander to control pins on both the display and camera via I2C, enhancing its functionality.
The included HM01B0 camera module from Himax offers a 320 x 320 pixel resolution, supporting frame rates up to 51 FPS at full resolution and up to 60 FPS in QVGA mode. For applications requiring higher frame rates, the 2x2 monochrome binning mode supports up to 120 FPS, perfect for scenarios where speed is prioritized over resolution and color. Its motion-detection feature can trigger an interrupt output, enabling the camera to activate upon detecting movement, making it ideal for security and automation projects.
The camera board provides flexible video data interfacing through a configurable 1-, 4-, or 8-bit interface, supporting both video frame synchronization for multiple cameras and line sync for composite image creation. Additionally, it offers three oscillator options for the camera module: an onboard 24 MHz oscillator, the HM01B0's internal 48 MHz oscillator, or an external clock input. This flexibility allows users to optimize their setup according to specific project requirements, ensuring precise and efficient operation.
