Adafruit SD Card Extender

This simple, but effective device provides a flexible cable with a pseudo-card on one end and an SD card socket on the other. Plug in the SD card half and attach the socket wherever it's most convenient.

This is an excellent solution for length constraints with 3D printers, single-board computers, data-logging kits, and more. Effortlessly access your SD card while safeguarding against wear and tear. The sockets feature a push-push mechanism; insert the card to lock and press again to release. A pictogram on the socket indicates the correct orientation.

Used successfully with a Replicator 3D printer and a Raspberry Pi Linux computer, it offers a speedy and error-free connection. Be mindful in high-speed and high-noise environments where performance may vary. Note some computers detect card insertion mechanically, and this extender may confuse the host in such cases. Best used with systems that allow 'force' mounting/unmounting or if the card is only replaced on reboot. SD Card not included.
