Experience unparalleled brightness with Pixie LEDs, each delivering a powerful 3W output compared to the typical 0.2W from standard NeoPixels. These chainable smart LEDs are designed by Ytai Ben-Tsvi and are equipped with a Microchip PIC microcontroller for smart control.
Control colors effortlessly at 115200 baud with a simple byte per color command. Pixies forward received data, allowing them to be chained like shift registers. A timeout feature ensures that if updates aren't received every 2 seconds, the LEDs will shut off, preventing overheating.
High power leads to potential heat issues, but Pixies are safeguarded with a temperature cut-off. If temperatures rise too high, the LED will shut off and restart once cooled. Power each unit with a maximum of 1 Amp, and use M2 screws for secure mounting.
Connect to a microcontroller capable of sending 115200 baud 8N1 data to function. Our Arduino library mirrors the simplicity of NeoPixel APIs, enabling vivid ROYGBIV displays in under 5 minutes. Consult our comprehensive tutorial for code, schematics, and more detailed guidance.
