Large hand-sized rotary encoders are ideal for creating tactile, user-friendly interfaces. With 100 ticks per rotation, each turn reliably corresponds with a unit of measurement, perfect for manual CNC machine control.

Unlike PCB-mounted options, these encoders feature convenient screw terminal blocks, allowing for easy wire attachment—simply provide DC voltage to VCC and ground. Track rotation and direction changes through A and B motion pulses, compatible with any rotary encoder tutorial.

While they resemble potentiometers, these encoders offer continuous 360-degree rotation, divided into 100 segments for precise control. Note that they don’t track absolute position but rather require a microcontroller to tally rotational 'clicks'. Ideal when a large, tactile, and endlessly rotating interface is needed.
