Adafruit TPS61169 Constant Current Boost Converter for LEDs

The Adafruit Constant Current Boost Converter for LEDs simplifies the task of driving LEDs, whether arranged in series or parallel. Featuring the TPS61169 chip, it can produce up to 40V and 400mA from a 3-5V input source.

Unlike typical boosters that deliver a fixed voltage, this converter adjusts the voltage to ensure a consistent current draw, making it ideal for LED applications, which are current-dependent. It's particularly suited for use with LED nOOds and filaments, where voltage requirements can reach up to 12V or 24V at approximately 200mA.

The converter is efficient and quiet, achieving 90% efficiency. It features a 1.2A internal switch and automatic over-voltage protection. Dimming is possible through the PWM input pin, while current output is adjustable via mini DIP switches.

A single assembled breakout with TPS61169 and passive components is included. Simply supply 3 to 5V DC to the IN and Ground pins. Connect your LEDs to the output port to get started. The matching enclosure provides additional board protection.
