The micro:bit v2 is a pocket-sized, fully programmable computer designed to make learning coding and electronics fun and accessible. Building on the beloved features of the original micro:bit, the v2 version introduces several new components to expand your creative horizons. At its heart, the micro:bit v2 is powered by a more advanced processor, providing greater speed and efficiency for your projects.

For inputs, the micro:bit v2 comes equipped with two programmable buttons and a touch-sensitive logo, allowing for a variety of interactive options. The 25 red LED lights in a 5x5 grid can be programmed to display simple images, animations, or scrolling text. To further boost interactivity, it now includes a built-in speaker and microphone, opening up new possibilities for sound-based projects. You can create musical tunes, measure sound levels, or even develop voice-activated controls.

The micro:bit v2 also retains the original's motion detection features, including a three-axis accelerometer and a three-axis magnetometer, which can act as a compass. With these, you can create projects that react to movement or determine the direction. Its light-sensing feature allows the micro:bit to react to changes in light intensity, offering more ways for environmental interaction.

On the edge connector, you'll find 25 assignable pins, including 3 ring connectors for use with crocodile clips and banana plugs. This allows you to connect a wide range of external components, such as sensors, motors, or other micro:bits, enabling more complex and exciting projects. Plus, the onboard Bluetooth 5.0 allows for wireless communication with other devices and the Internet of Things.

The micro:bit v2 supports several coding platforms, including the user-friendly, block-based MakeCode and the more advanced Python, catering to a broad range of skill levels. Whether you're just starting your coding journey or an experienced tech enthusiast, the micro:bit v2 offers a versatile and engaging platform to experiment, create, and learn.

One of the finest development boards. Plug it in USB and a party starts. All possibilities are shown in a beautiful demo. Fast, lots of memory, built-in sensors, Bluetooth 5 BLE, the LED matrix is finally connected correctly (no longer as a messy 3x9 matrix). Can be programmed in 4 ways!
