Adafruit Prop-Maker FeatherWing

The Adafruit Feather series offers a compact, rechargeable microcontroller board, ideal for incorporating into prop builds. This FeatherWing enhances your creativity, packed with features to craft sabers, swords, props, toys, cosplay pieces, and more.

Features include a snap-in NeoPixel port with a 3-pin JST connector, providing a high current drive from either the Feather Lipoly or USB port. A level shifter ensures a clean voltage signal, reducing glitchiness across any chip. Connect a 3W RGB LED using the 3W RGB LED drivers, featuring high current MOSFETs and PWM capability for color customization.

A Triple-Axis Accelerometer with Tap Detection, the LIS3DH, detects motion, tilt, or taps, adding interactive capabilities. For sound effects, the Class D Audio Amplifier drives a 8Ω 1W or 4Ω 3W speaker. With low power mode, power is controllable via a pin, ensuring low consumption when the prop is not in use.

For optimal performance, the Feather M0 Express, M4 series, or ESP32 are recommended, maximizing the use of onboard hardware elements, which include PWM and analog output. Assembly entails light soldering to connect the wing to your Feather board, providing a seamless fit into your innovative projects.
