A button is a button, and a switch is a switch, but these translucent arcade buttons are in a class of their own. Particularly because they have LEDs built right in! You'll be button-mashing amidst a wash of beautiful light with these lil' guys. They're the same size as common miniature arcade controls and require a 24mm diameter hole for mounting.
The buttons screw in place, allowing usage with up to ~15mm thick materials, hiding imperfections in the hole's shape. The action is smooth without a pronounced click, yet it ensures a tactile response when pressed. A tiny micro-switch is pre-installed, featuring gold-plated contacts.
Even unlit, the buttons showcase a crystal translucent glossy look. As mentioned, they have two surface mount LEDs with resistors, nestled within the button body. Next to the switch contacts are additional contacts for powering or controlling the LEDs.
These LEDs are configured in series with a ~1K resistor, making them compatible with a microcontroller pin or direct 5V power, such as from USB, with a 5mA draw. Note that the Red and Yellow versions of these mini LED buttons require at least 5V for operation due to their series configuration!
This is the Translucent Yellow version of our Mini 24mm LED arcade buttons.
