Adafruit PMSA003I Air Quality Breakout

Breathe easy, knowing that you can track and sense the quality of the air around you with the Adafruit PMSA003I Air Quality Breakout. This compact, plug-in sensor is ideal for monitoring air quality efficiently.

Unlike most sensors that use a UART interface, this one is equipped with an I2C interface, making it compatible with single-board Linux computers like Raspberry Pi, as well as simple Arduino UNO's.

Featuring two SparkFun Qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors, the sensor supports plug-and-play functionality without the need for soldering, allowing for rapid integration with other QT boards and sensors for comprehensive air quality sensing. Note that a QT Cable is not included, but various options are available separately.

The sensor uses laser scattering technology to measure air particulates, analyzing their concentration and size, ranging from PM1.0, PM2.5, to PM10.0, reported in both standard and environmental units. It provides particulate matter data in 0.3um, 0.5um, 1.0um, 2.5um, 5.0um, and 10um size bins with a data stream that updates every second.

Designed for versatility, its breakout board includes a 5V mini boost circuit, enabling power from both 3.3V and 5V sources. Completing the package, Arduino and CircuitPython libraries are provided for easy data reading and checksum verification, outputting results in a human-readable format.
