This super small mono amplifier is surprisingly powerful, capable of delivering up to 2.5 Watts into 4-8 ohm impedance speakers. The miniature chip features a class D controller, operating efficiently from 2.0V-5.5VDC, making it ideal for portable and battery-powered projects.
With over 90% efficiency when driving an 8Ω speaker at over half a Watt, its thermal and over-current protection ensures longevity without overheating. A built-in volume trim pot allows for easy adjustment from the default 24dB gain.
In addition, the amplifier's A+ and A- inputs are fully differential with 1.0uF capacitors, providing flexibility to accommodate non-differential outputs. The bridge-tied output is a 250KHz square wave PWM that seamlessly integrates with speaker coils.
This board offers a substantial upgrade to basic amps and comes with a fully assembled breakout board, including headers for breadboard connection and 3.5mm screw-terminal blocks for swift speaker attachment. Note that the terminal block color may vary between blue or black. Speaker not included; compatible with any 4 ohm or greater impedance speaker.
Output Power: 2.5W at 4Ω, 10% THD, 1.5W at 8Ω, 10% THD, with 5.5V Supply. Additional features include a filterless design with ferrite bead, onboard trim potentiometer, and low current draw of 4mA quiescent and 0.5mA in shutdown.
