Adafruit 9-DOF LSM9DS1 Breakout Board - STEMMA QT / Qwiic

Description

Add motion, direction, and orientation sensing to your project with this all-in-one 9-DOF sensor that is STEMMA QT ready for easy plug-n-play usage.

This compact chip houses three distinct sensors. The 3-axis accelerometer detects gravitational direction and acceleration in 3D space. The 3-axis magnetometer determines the strongest magnetic force, useful for pinpointing magnetic north. The 3-axis gyroscope measures spin and twist, collectively allowing precise orientation.

Featuring SparkFun qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors, it eliminates the need for soldering, easily connecting to your projects via an I2C bus. Just connect to any microcontroller, like the STM32F405 Feather, with a plug-and-play cable for instant 9-DOF data acquisition.

Key specifications include accelerometer ranges of ±2/±4/±8/±16 g, magnetometer ranges of ±4/±8/±12/±16 gauss, and gyroscope ranges of ±245/±500/±2000 dps.

Streamlined and straightforward, the breakout board provides voltage regulation and level-shifted inputs, compatible with both 3V and 5V power/logic devices. Offering exposed SPI and I2C interfaces with interrupt pins, it comes fully assembled and tested, complete with extra headers for breadboard use. Secure mounting is ensured with two mounting holes.

Comprehensive resources such as schematics, diagrams, libraries, code examples, and datasheets are available in the learning system guide.
