DSMR Logger V4 (Smart Meter Reader)

A major disadvantage of the Smart Meter is that it sums the energy of the solar panels with that of the consumers on the same group.

This way you never get an insight into the energy actually generated and the energy actually consumed. You can also measure the generated energy (outside the Smart Meter) with a AC Current Sensor (e.g. an SCT013-030 or ECS1030-L59). You clamp these around the phase wire of the solar panels entering the meter cupboard and they emit a voltage that depends on the current that runs through the cable.

For the use of these types of sensors, the ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) pin of the ESP8266 is extremely suitable. In the schematic of the DSMR logger v4, it has a range of 0-5volts. By R12 and R13 (5% tolerance, a smaller tolerance is better) you can change this range.

However, most of his working life he has worked in automation where he has worked in just about all disciplines from programmer to project leader and project manager. Willem was one of the first Dutchmen with a micro-computer (KIM-1, 1976) at a time when the PC had yet to be invented. Nowadays he is mainly concerned with the design and production of small electronic circuits with microprocessors. His 'mission in life' is to make people enthusiastic about making their own electronic circuits, microcomputers and programming.
