Adafruit Wire Light LED Strand - 10 Warm White LEDs + Coin Cell Holder

Add sparkle to your project with these lovely silver wire LED strands. Featuring a unique design, two silver wires are coated to prevent shorting, while tiny 1000mcd LEDs are bonded onto the wires and coated with epoxy. This creates a flexible wire adorned with barely-there "fairy" lights, providing a discreet and enchanting illumination.

The strands are waterproof for outdoor use but ensure the battery holder is protected. Each 3-foot long strand comprises 10 LEDs, spaced approximately 10cm or 4 inches apart. At one end, a double stranded-core wire is soldered and heat-shrinked for durability, while the opposite end connects to a 2 x CR2032 coin cell holder with an on/off switch.

For customization, easily replace the coin cell holder with a 3xAAA or 3xAA battery holder by removing the original and soldering to the magnet wire, after scraping off its coating. The strands operate with 2 x CR2032 batteries, included for immediate use.

Note that there are no series resistors installed, so calculations are needed if an alternative power source is used. For a 6V supply, incorporate a 20-220 ohm resistor; for 4.5V, use 10-100 ohm to avoid damage to the LEDs. This adaptability allows you to tailor the power supply to your project's specific needs.
