The PiCowbell OV5640 Camera Breakout features a high-quality 5 Megapixel OV5640 sensor equipped with a 72-degree non-distorting lens and autofocus capabilities. Perfectly designed to synchronize with your Pico or Pico W, this breakout board captures detailed RGB images and supports JPEG encoding for efficient storage and sharing.

Utilizing the RP2040 chip's PIO interface, the breakout connects to 'DVP' cameras with 8 image data pins, as well as Pixel Clock, H Sync, and V Sync signals. Despite the extensive GPIO usage, it smartly retains 6 available GPIO pins even with added components like an SD card and a shutter button.

Key specifications include an onboard 16 MHz oscillator for generating 'XClock', a Stemma QT port for I2C, and connection points for micro SD cards. With a simple I2C command, engage the autofocus system for precise image clarity. The camera includes an assembled PCB, camera sensor, and header pins that require soldering.
