Adafruit 128x64 OLED Bonnet for Raspberry Pi

Description

If you'd like a compact display with buttons and a joystick, the Adafruit 128x64 OLED Bonnet for Raspberry Pi is ideal. This version offers 128x64 pixels and a significantly larger screen than its mini PiOLED counterpart.

With a centrally located OLED display, it features a 5-way joystick and two pushbuttons, making it a great choice for project control interfaces. Measuring just 1.3 inches diagonally, this high-contrast display is composed of 128x64 white OLED pixels. As it generates its own light, no backlight is required, enhancing both power efficiency and display crispness.

While not suitable as a primary display for the Pi, it excels in specialized applications using pygame for drawing or writing text. Easy to use with pre-built Python libraries, the joystick and buttons connect via GPIO pins. Our example code facilitates text and image drawing with the Python imaging library, and supports joystick/button integration with the display. Achieving 15 FPS update rates, it accommodates animations and simple video content.

Completely pre-assembled and tested for convenience, simply plug it in and install our Python software. Compatible with any Raspberry Pi computer, including Pi 1, B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, Pi 5, and Pi Zero. Detailed instructions and software downloads are available in the Learning Guide.
