Adafruit Wire Light LED Strand - 10 Cool White LEDs + Coin Cell Holder

Add a sustainable sparkle to your project with innovative silver wire LED strands. These strands utilize two coated silver wires to prevent shorting, with tiny 1000mcd LEDs secured onto them, covered with epoxy for protection. This design results in a highly flexible wire adorned with subtle "fairy" lights.

Compact and waterproof, these strands can be used outdoors or submerged in water, requiring only protection for the battery holder. Each 2-foot strand is equipped with 10 LEDs spaced 10cm/4 inches apart. A soldered, heat-shrinked double stranded-core wire connects at one end to a convenient 2 x CR2032 coin cell holder with an on/off switch.

For customizable power options, users can replace the coin cell holder with a 3xAAA or 3xAA battery holder simply by scraping off the coating from the magnet wire and soldering as needed. Each set includes 2 CR2032 batteries, ensuring approximately 8 hours of continuous use.

For added versatility, driving the LEDs with alternate power supplies is possible, albeit with the need for external resistors. Users must calculate and include a series resistor. E.g., a 20-220 ohm resistor for a 6V source, or a 10-100 ohm resistor for a 4.5V source.
