Adafruit USB LiIon/LiPoly charger

This advanced Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer battery charger leverages the MCP73833 chip for efficient charging through a mini-B USB connection. It seamlessly operates in three stages: preconditioning, constant-current fast charge, and a constant-voltage trickle charge, ensuring your battery remains topped up.

The default 500mA fast-charge current can be tailored from 100mA to 1000mA by simply adjusting an on-board through-hole resistor. This board's design is perfect for DIY enthusiasts, featuring three indicator LEDs: power, charging status, and completion.

Maintain battery connectivity during charging with an additional JST connector, using the included cable. Please note, this charger is specifically designed for use with Adafruit Lipoly batteries, avoiding potential mismatches in voltage, chemistry, polarity, or pinout with other types.

Specifications include 5V input via mini-B USB, compatibility with single 3.7/4.2v Lithium Ion/Lithium Polymer batteries, and separate JST connectors. The charger also supports a 10K NTC thermistor, which can be replaced with a thermistor for temperature monitoring if required. Additional features include 0.1" breakouts for the battery, DC, and status LEDs.

This product comes fully assembled and tested, with a free 2-pin JST cable included. Please note, batteries and USB cable are not included.
