Adafruit USB/DC Lithium Polymer battery charger 5-12V

Charge your single-cell lithium ion or polymer battery effortlessly with this versatile board. Plug directly into the miniUSB connector if you have a USB connection, or use any standard 2.1mm DC adapter outputting 5 to 12VDC. The charger will intelligently select the higher voltage source if both are connected.

Enjoy the convenience of multiple status LEDs, indicating power, charging, and errors—plus, the charging LED blinks once your battery is full. Safety features include automatic adjustment of the charge rate to prevent overheating, with customizable charge rates from 100mA to 1.2A.

Designed exclusively for use with Adafruit Lipoly or LiIon batteries, this charger ensures optimal compatibility and performance. It supports single-cell 3.7/4.2V batteries, not suitable for older 3.6/4.1V cells. The board comes with two JST connections for seamless project integration and terminal block connections for additional soldering options.

A standard 500mA charge rate is pre-set, adjustable via a through-hole resistor, with a safety timer halting the charge after 14 hours. For those with technical expertise, a built-in 10K thermistor can be replaced or supplemented with ease based on datasheet specifications.

Each unit is fully assembled and tested, accompanied by a free JST cable. Dimensions are a compact 1.75" x 1.6". Please note, battery, USB cable, and DC power plug are sold separately but available in store.
