Adafruit Strain Gauge Load Cell - 4 Wires

A strain gauge is an electronic sensor that accurately measures force or strain. Composed of a flexible insulating backing and a metallic foil pattern, it experiences resistance changes due to applied force, producing a varied electrical output.

In this product, the strain gauge is epoxy-bonded to robust aluminum, protecting the delicate foil from over-bending and limiting movement to prevent damage. Secure one side to a fixed enclosure or ground using the mounting holes. Apply weight in the direction shown by the arrow—downward via gravity or upward by pulling.

Strain gauges are versatile in measuring pressure, force, weight, and tension. Choose from various weight ranges, ensuring the gauge supports at least twice your desired force for optimal precision. Remember, calibration with known weights is necessary post-installation for accuracy.
