The ANO rotary encoder wheel offers a nod to nostalgia with its iconic clicking scroll wheel design from the original iPods. It's both a compact and intuitive user interface element, ideal for versatile applications.

To simplify integration, the product includes a breakout board that aligns the unusual pin configuration to a breadboard-friendly header strip. This version features the encoder already pre-soldered, ensuring immediate use.

No pull-up or pull-down resistors are included; leverage your microcontroller's built-in features for compatibility. The setup requires 7 GPIO ports: 5 for buttons and 2 for rotary encoder pins. With 2 common pins, typically grounded, you can utilize internal pull-ups for operation. Our example employs GPIO to COM's, set to output, though a direct wiring option exists.
