The standalone micro:bit has three digital/analog input/output rings that can be used with alligator clips. The Qwiic micro:bit Breakout takes this a step further by breaking out all 21 GPIO pins to male headers, power, and ground to a pre-soldered 2.54mm header, complete with two individual Qwiic Connectors. This breakout enables users to fully explore and utilize the capabilities of their micro:bit.
The SparkFun Qwiic micro:bit Breakout does not include a micro:bit, which must be purchased separately. A version of the micro:bit breakout without pre-soldered headers is also available.
Getting started with the Qwiic micro:bit Breakout is simple, thanks to the comprehensive guide provided by SparkFun. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to get users up and running quickly and easily.
A variety of documents are available to support users, including a schematic, Eagle Files, a Hookup Guide, a micro:bit Guide, resources for Microsoft MakeCode, MicroPython for micro:bit Editor, and a GitHub Hardware Repo.
