The SparkFun OpenLog Data Collector with Machinechat - Air Quality Monitoring is a comprehensive kit that allows you to easily collect, organize, and display data from the included SGP40 Qwiic Air Quality Sensor. The OpenLog Artemis, a central component of the kit, is an open-source data logger that comes preprogrammed to log GPS/GNSS, serial data, and various pressure, humidity, and distance data. It also offers the flexibility to expand to any number of Qwiic sensors. The kit also includes Machinechat's JEDI One, a customizable dashboard solution for IoT data collection, transformation, visualization, and reporting.
Machinechat's JEDI One offers a user-friendly interface for managing your IoT data. It has built-in HTTP and TCP servers, allowing you to start collecting data in minutes. With custom plug-ins, you can collect data from virtually any sensor or device. Additionally, it features a fully integrated and self-contained MQTT broker, simplifying the process of integrating any MQTT-based device or sensor.
The SparkFun SGP40 Air Quality Sensor is designed to provide a reliable measurement of the air quality in your space. It uses Sensirion's CMOSens® technology and a metal oxide (MOx) sensor with a temperature-controlled micro hotplate. It provides a humidity-compensated volatile organic compound (VOC) based indoor air quality signal. The sensor offers unmatched robustness against contaminating gases, ensuring long-term stability, low drift, and minimal device-to-device variation.
The OpenLog Artemis allows for easy connection to another compatible Qwiic-enabled device. It automatically records all incoming serial data to a log file and supports baud rates up to 500000bps. The OLA also has four ADC channels available, allowing voltages up to 2V to be logged with 14-bit precision. An on-board RTC has been added based on user feedback to time stamp all data.
The OpenLog Artemis offers high configurability through an easy-to-use serial interface. Simply plug in a USB-C cable and open a terminal at 115200bps. The logging output is automatically streamed to both the terminal and the microSD, and pressing any key will open the configuration menu.
This kit includes an OpenLog Artemis (without IMU), an SGP40 Qwiic Atmospheric Sensor Breakout, a unique JEDI One license, and connector cables. Please note that additional sensors must be purchased separately. The OpenLog Artemis included in this kit has the ICM-20948 IMU sensor removed, but still supports auto-detection and logging of over a dozen sensors and GNSS receivers.
The SparkFun Qwiic connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, reducing the amount of required PCB space and ensuring you can't hook it up wrong.
