SparkFun Mini GPS Shield

The SparkFun Mini GPS Shield is a compact and powerful addition to your Arduino Mini, providing it with GPS module access, a µSD memory card socket, and a range of other peripherals. This enables your Arduino to track location, monitor speed, and observe altitude. The shield is built around the GP-735 GPS module, a 56-channel GPS receiver featuring a uBlox 7th generation chip set and a rapid update rate of up to 10Hz. The Mini GPS Shield is a compact variant of the GPS Logger Shield, designed specifically for compatibility with Arduino Mini/Micro boards. It comes with a six-pin JST connector for the GP-735 module. If you already have a GPS module, the JST pins are broken out and labeled, allowing you to use virtually any GPS module that operates down to 3.3V. The shield is compatible with all Arduino Mini boards and uses 3.3V logic. However, the logic level converter on the shield also allows for easy use with 5V boards. The symmetrical pins on the mini boards mean the shield can be easily plugged in the wrong way, but this won't cause any damage - just make sure to follow the Hookup Guide for correct installation.
