This board was designed with cost efficiency in mind. To achieve this, SparkFun used all SMD components and made it a two-layer board. It connects directly to the FTDI Basic Breakout board and supports auto-reset. While it also works with the FTDI cable, the auto-reset feature will not function as the DTR pin is not brought out by the cable. The board includes a voltage regulator and can accept voltage up to 12VDC. If you're supplying unregulated power to the board, ensure you connect to the "RAW" pin and not VCC.
The latest version of the Arduino Pro Mini offers additional features. It breaks out the ADC6 and ADC7 pins and includes footprints for optional I2C pull-up resistors. The board now also proudly displays the OSHW logo.
