
The board is designed for quick deployment, allowing users to set up a LoRaWAN® IoT sensor in minutes. Simply configure the Digi HX15 Gateway and account, register the IoT Node, attach the antenna and a supported Qwiic sensor, and power the board. The pre-installed firmware automatically connects to Digi X-ON, detects attached sensors, and posts data to the X-ON cloud, making it ideal for rapid evaluation and IoT device creation.
Firmware development is primarily conducted in the Arduino environment, facilitated by the Arduino XBee® library from Digi. This, combined with the extensive range of Qwiic sensors from SparkFun, offers endless possibilities for creating custom LoRaWAN® IoT sensors. The open-source nature of the pre-installed application allows for easy customization, catering to specific project needs.
The RP2350 microprocessor at the core of the board supports multiple development environments, including Arduino, Micropython, and the Raspberry Pi Pico SDK. Its versatile hardware features, such as the Qwiic connector and on-board battery management, cater to diverse project requirements. The Digi XBee® LR module enhances performance in long-range and high-noise RF environments, offering automated connection and device management through Digi's X-ON cloud platform.
