This flexibility ensures that you can integrate the board into numerous projects without compatibility concerns. The included mounting hardware guarantees a secure and clean installation, making it easy to set up and swap modules for future upgrades.
At the core of this pHAT is the LG580P, a high-performance receiver that offers a comprehensive navigation solution for dynamic applications. It provides centimeter-level position accuracy and high-precision orientation data, essential for autonomous navigation and control. Its ability to simultaneously receive signals from L1, L2, L5, and L6/E6 bands across major constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS, and NavIC) ensures fast convergence and reliable performance, even in challenging environments like urban canyons or dense forests.
Advanced anti-jamming algorithms detect and mitigate interference, ensuring dependable operation in complex electromagnetic settings. With an update rate of up to 20 Hz for both position and heading, the LG580P is ideal for high-speed robotics and vehicle control systems. It supports standard RTK/RTCM corrections, a wide range of SBAS augmentation systems, and PPP services, offering versatility for various applications.
To operate, external antennas are required, with options for connecting via two U.FL connectors on the GNSS Flex Module. For a more robust connection, an SMA connector is available on the SparkFun GNSS Flex pHAT, bridged to a U.FL connector. Simply jumper the U.FL connectors on both the SparkPNT GNSS Flex Module and SparkFun GNSS Flex pHAT with a short U.FL cable. A Raspberry Pi or similar single-board computer is necessary for use, utilizing the primary serial bus by default for communication with the GNSS receiver, though other interfaces are also available.
