The Silicon Labs BGM220 Explorer Kit is a cost-effective, compact development and evaluation platform for the BGM220P Bluetooth® Module. It incorporates a mikroBUS™ socket and Qwiic connector, enabling an easy addition of features using a wide range of readily available boards.
Programming the kit is straightforward with the use of a USB Micro-B cable and the onboard J-Link debugger. The kit also features a USB virtual COM port for serial connection to the target application. Additionally, the Packet Trace Interface (PTI) delivers essential debug information about transmitted and received packets in wireless links. The kit is compatible with Simplicity Studio™ and includes a Board Support Package (BSP) to facilitate application developers.
Users can connect external hardware to the kit through the 20 breakout pads, which display peripherals from the BGM220P Wireless Gecko such as I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIOs. The mikroBUS socket supports the insertion of mikroBUS add-on boards that interface with the BGM220P through SPI, UART, or I2C. The Qwiic connector enables the connection of hardware from the Qwiic Connect System via I2C.
