Adafruit NRF52840 Bluetooth® Low Energy Module with USB

If you have a custom PCB design ready, this compact module is perfect for adding Bluetooth® Low Energy capabilities. Featuring a Nordic nRF52840 Cortex M4 chip, it seamlessly integrates BLE radio, USB, and most necessary circuitry, even including a chip antenna.

This robust chip boasts 1 MB FLASH for firmware, 256 KB SRAM, and an essential native USB support, eliminating the need for an external USB-serial converter chip. Note that the module's design with under-pads requires a stencil and hot air soldering or a reflow oven.

Please be aware that the module comes with a blank chip, requiring proficiency in programming using a J-Link programmer and the Nordic SDK. While we don't provide firmware, it is supported by the Nordic SDK, some basic Arduino support, CircuitPython, and MyNewt.

This is the same module used in the Adafruit nRF52840 Feather. For a reference design, check out the PCB files. Regardless of your choice—SDK, CircuitPython, or Arduino—you will need to solder this onto a PCB and load code using an SWD programmer.
