The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 encapsulates the computational prowess of the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B into a smaller form factor, ideal for deeply embedded applications. It features a quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 processor, dual video output, and gigabit Ethernet. The versatility of the module is further enhanced by UART, I2C, SPI, and I2S interfaces.

Available in multiple variants, the CM4 offers RAM options from 1GB to 8GB LPDDR4-3200 SDRAM and eMMC flash storage options of up to 32GB. Wireless connectivity includes 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11b/g/n/ac LAN and Bluetooth® 5.0 support, aligning with modern connectivity requirements. This specific version offers 2GB RAM, 16GB eMMC, and WiFi.

The CM4 supports dual HDMI output with VideoCore VI for high-resolution experiences, capable of 4Kp60 H.265 video decode and 1080p30 H.264 video encode. High-speed interfacing is facilitated through dual MIPI CSI-2 camera ports and MIPI DSI displays, perfect for multimedia applications.

Notable improvements over the previous Compute Module 3+ include a faster CPU, better multimedia capabilities, enhanced interfacing, a variety of RAM options, and wireless support. The lack of a traditional DIMM socket is replaced by efficient board-to-board connectors, optimizing space for smaller carrier boards and enabling compact product designs.

This module is tailored for industrial control, robotics, digital signage, IoT, and AI/machine learning projects, with the flexibility offered by 28 GPIO pins and up to 6 UART, 6 I2C, and 5 SPI connections.
