The next generation Proto-ScrewShield is a dual-purpose prototyping accessory that combines versatility and robust design. It features a spacious 0.1-inch grid prototyping area and extends Arduino pins to durable screw terminal blocks, ensuring secure connections.
This innovative shield includes bonus terminals for added GND options and four versatile terminals for custom connections. Enhanced with an R3 update as of June 23, 2014, it now integrates with ICSP 2x3 pins and features SCL and SDA pin breakouts, optimizing compatibility with R3 UNOs, Mega, and Leonardo boards.
The stackable wing design provides flexible arrangements, enabling access to both analog and digital ports without obstruction, whether stacked above or beneath other shields. The high-quality PCB is resilient to frequent soldering, crucial for ongoing experimentation.
Other features include ample prototyping space with power and ground rails, a diffused green power LED, and an additional red LED for configurable usage. The kit also includes a reset button, stacking female header pins, and numerous 3.5-mm terminal blocks that accommodate 36 breakouts.
The product is supplied as a kit with all through-hole parts, requiring assembly with a soldering iron, diagonal cutters, and solder. Though assembly is straightforward and quick, a tutorial guide is available for support. Note that included terminal blocks may vary in color, arriving as blue or black.
