Get visual feedback from your Pi with the compact and efficient PiGlow, an add-on board featuring 18 individually controllable LEDs. Perfect for enhancing ambiance or providing real-time system status, it seamlessly integrates with the Raspberry Pi and nests comfortably within the Pibow case.
Unleash your creativity with countless applications: use it to set mood lighting, display system load, alert you to social media notifications or incoming emails, and provide script status feedback. Its versatility ensures it can adapt to almost any visual project you imagine.
The PiGlow employs the SN3218 8-bit 18-channel PWM chip to control its 18 surface-mount LEDs, allowing PWM values between 0 and 255. It communicates via I2C over the GPIO header with a bus address of 0x54, and Python example code is provided for easy setup. Fully assembled, with no soldering required, it includes three LEDs each in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white hues.
Ideal for headless Pi setups, the PiGlow offers PWM dimming control for each channel. Python, Scratch, WiringPi, and other example scripts are readily available on the Pimoroni website to assist in transforming your Raspberry Pi into a dynamic visual display powerhouse.
