Adafruit Lock-style Solenoid - 12VDC

This robust solenoid functions as an efficient electronic lock, perfect for securing doors, cabinets, or safes. At its core, a powerful electromagnet pulls a metal slug inward when energized, allowing access by unlocking the door.

The solenoid features a slanted slug design and a versatile mounting bracket. The slug position can be adjusted by rotating it 90, 180, or 270 degrees to fit various installations, ensuring compatibility with your setup.

It operates in a normally-locked state, consuming no power, which maintains security without draining energy. Apply a 9-12VDC power supply to retract the slug and unlock the system.

Avoid using a standard 9V battery due to the high current requirement of approximately 500mA. Instead, opt for a robust power supply. For integration with microcontrollers like Arduino, a power transistor and diode are recommended.
