The FemtoBuck LED Driver is a compact, single-output LED driver that offers an output current of 0-350mA at up to 36V. It features dimming control that can be accessed via PWM or an analog signal from 0-2.5V. Unlike the PicoBuck LED Driver, the FemtoBuck controls only one LED channel. The FemtoBuck LED Driver has been designed to withstand the full 36V range of the AL8860 driver, owing to the increased voltage ratings on the parts. As a constant current driver, the FemtoBuck ensures that the current drawn from the supply decreases as the supply voltage increases. It boasts an efficiency of approximately 95%, although this can vary depending on the input voltage.
The FemtoBuck is user-friendly, featuring two inputs for power input and dimming control pins and a space for installing a 3.5mm screw terminal. The board also has small indents or "ears" on either side to allow the user to secure wires to the board using a zip tie after soldering them down. A unique feature of this version of the FemtoBuck is the small solder jumper that can be closed to double the output current from 330mA to 660mA.
