The SCD30 from Sensirion is a top-tier Nondispersive Infrared (NDIR) CO₂ sensor. It can detect CO₂ levels ranging from 400 to 10000ppm with an accuracy of ±(30ppm+3%). The SCD30 is equipped with built-in temperature and humidity sensing, providing enhanced accuracy. It also features commands for altitude adjustment, and can even accept ambient pressure readings for additional precision.
Sparkfun has designed an Arduino library to simplify the process of reading the CO₂, humidity, and temperature. This library can be easily accessed through the Arduino Library manager by searching for 'SparkFun SCD30'.
The SCD30 Humidity and Temperature Sensor is compatible with the OpenLog Artemis datalogger system. This allows for automatic detection, scanning, configuration, and logging, eliminating the need for programming, soldering, or setup.
The SCD30 features an automatic self-calibration routine. For optimal calibration, Sensirion recommends 7 days of continuous readings with at least 1 hour a day of 'fresh air'.
Key features of the SCD30 include a power supply voltage of 3.3V - 5.5V, integrated temperature and humidity sensor, NDIR CO2 sensor technology, and the best performance-to-price ratio. It also boasts dual-channel detection for superior stability. The sensor is compact, measuring just 35 mm x 23 mm x 7 mm. It offers a measurement range of 400 ppm – 10.000 ppm with an accuracy of ±(30 ppm + 3%). The SCD30 consumes 19 mA @ 1 measurement per 2 seconds and 120 mJ @ 1 measurement. It is fully calibrated and linearized, and comes with a digital interface UART or I²C.
