Measure liquid or water flow for your solar, computer cooling, or gardening project using this handy basic flow meter, featuring a fully clear plastic body. This sensor sits in line with your water line and uses a pinwheel sensor to measure how much liquid has moved through it.
The pinwheel has a small magnet attached, with a hall effect magnetic sensor on the opposite side of the plastic tube to track how many spins the pinwheel has completed through the clear wall. This method ensures the sensor remains safe and dry.
The sensor includes a JST PH 2mm pitch connector and three wires: red (5-15VDC), black (ground), and yellow (Hall effect pulse output). By counting the pulses from the sensor's output, you can easily trace fluid movement, with each pulse approximately equating to 2.25 milliliters.
Note that this isn't a precision sensor, and the pulse rate may vary depending on the flow rate, fluid pressure, and sensor orientation. It accommodates flow rates from 1 to 30 Liters/min. Careful calibration is required for precision better than 10%. It's ideal for basic measurement tasks!
