Adafruit Audio Adapter Board for Teensy 3.0 - 3.2, 3.5 and 3.6

The adapter communicates with the Teensy using 7 signals including I2C pins SDA and SCL for control and parameter adjustments. Audio data transmission utilizes I2S signals with TX for headphones or line out and RX for line-in or microphone. The three essential clocks, LRCLK, BCLK, and MCLK, are precisely generated by Teensy 3.1 to ensure flawless audio performance.

Powered by the SGTL5000 chip, which operates in peripheral mode, it receives all clock signals as inputs. The updated version since February 23, 2015, incorporates minor enhancements for improved functionality. Note that this package includes only the audio adapter and not the Teensy microcontroller itself.
