Adafruit Arduino Uno Ethernet

Deep in the Swiss Alps, the Arduino Super-collider has merged an Arduino UNO and Arduino Ethernet shield to create a wholly new Arduino Ethernet. This innovative board integrates Ethernet capabilities, featuring an Ethernet jack, network indication lights, and a microSD card holder for data storage or hosting.

The Arduino Ethernet shares the same form factor as a traditional Arduino Uno, equipped with headers for connecting wires or shields. While the Ethernet jack is taller than the USB connector, stacking headers may be required to use additional shields. This version lacks a USB port, requiring an FTDI friend or cable for programming, with a 6-pin connector conveniently located next to the microSD card holder.

To operate and program the board, connect an FTDI cable to the 6-pin header, then select Arduino Uno in the IDE. The Ethernet shield examples can also be explored. The board uses digital pins 10, 11, 12, and 13 for the Ethernet chip, with pin 4 dedicated for microSD card usage. More detailed information can be accessed on the Arduino site.
