Like Missy Elliot, we like to "put our [Feather] down, flip it and reverse it" and that's exactly what we've done with this new development board. It's the ESP32-S3 TFT Feather but with the 240x135 color TFT display on the back-side rather than the front-side, ideal for panel-mounted projects. We've also added space for 3 buttons, making it a perfect all-in-one display interface dev board, powered by the ESP32-S3 WIFI module.
The Adafruit ESP32-S3 Feather comes equipped with native USB, 4 MB Flash, and 2 MB PSRAM. It’s perfectly compatible with CircuitPython or Arduino and features low-cost WiFi. The native USB supports a variety of functionalities including acting as a keyboard or disk drive, making it an excellent choice for IoT projects. Being a Feather board, it integrates seamlessly with the vast Feather Wings ecosystem for expanded capabilities.
Specifications include a dual-core 240 MHz chip, making it comparable to the ESP32. However, note that Bluetooth® Classic is not supported, only Bluetooth® LE. The TFT is connected via SPI pins and uses a separate pin for the backlight control, allowing PWM adjustment. In deep sleep mode, the board impressively draws only about 40-50uA.
